An outcry from soccer fans condemning the inclusion of Alex Ng’onga to the 23-member squad that Chipolopolo coach Sven Vandenbroeck unveiled on Monday is making rounds on social media.

The fans accuse Ng’onga of having broken their hearts during the World Cup qualifier games and argued that he should not be given another chance yet.

But football analyst Musonda Chibulu says it is unfair to condemn the summoning of the striker based on his past games where he may have failed to deliver to the expectations of fans.

Speaking to Goal Diggers! Chibulu advised soccer fans in the country to be patient with the new Chipolopolo coach as he has not selected the final pool from which the final squad would be made.

“Let us give Sven time to make his team and not rush into showing him the little confidence we have in Ng’onga. He still has a long way to go before he comes up with the squad that will play against Namibia in the Afcon qualifier game,” said Chibulu.

The analyst has also reminded soccer fans that the national team coach has not yet summoned any player from Zanaco football club as they were engaged to Confederation of African Football CAF game, adding there are a number of reasons it is too early for soccer fans to condemn any summoned player to the squad.
