Voice of America’s Straight Talk Africa TV show presenter Shaka Ssali is in the country to discuss democracy with a panel of Zambian governance activists.

The discussion forum dubbed “The challenges of democracy in Zambia” has been organised by the University of Zambia Historical and Archaeological Association and the University of Zambia Political Science Association.

The event has been scheduled for Thursday, 24 August 2017 at 10:00 hours at the Confucius Institute Multipurpose Conference Hall within the University of Zambia campus.

Panelists include Laura Miti, Executive Director, Alliance for Community Action; Dickson Jere, Media practitioner, lawyer, author and activist; Political Science Lecturer Lee Habasonda and Piyo Ndhlovu, Vice-President, University of Zambia Students Union.

“This event, which may be broadcast on television and radio, is open to students and members of the general public.
