A Kitwe Pastor who defiled his biological daughter on return from overnight prayers has pleaded not guilty to the charge when he appeared before the Kitwe Magistrate Court.

In this case Alick Sinyenga Simbeye stood charged with defilement contrary to the laws of Zambia.

Taking plea before Principle Resident Magistrate Chongo Musonda, Monday Simbeye who described himself as a business man to the court, of house number 930 Buchi township Kitwe denied the charge.

Particulars of the offence are that on 25th July 2018, Sinyenga Simbeye had canal knowledge of a girl below 16 years contrary to section 138 of the penal code, Act number 15 of 2005.

Sinyenga Simbeye has been granted K10, 000 cash bail with two traceable sureties that reside within Kitwe while the matter was adjourned to 20th of August 2018 for commencement of trial.

Last month police arrested Simbeye for defiling his biological daughter on return from overnight prayers.

Copperbelt police commissioner Charity Katanga said the incident happened in the early hours when the pastor parked his car and defiled his daughter as they were heading home from an overnight prayer meeting.

“In the early hours of today (yesterday) we had a case of defilement involving a pastor from a named Church. The complaint was received from a 14-year-old girl who is the daughter and school girl. This occurred today 25th July, 2018 around 00:10 hours in Buchi township in which the 14-year-old girl who is a pupil reported that she had been defiled by her biological father Alick Sinyenga of house number 930 Buchi township also a church elder of the named Church,” Katanga said last month.

“The victim in the company of the father had gone for night prayers at the named Church in Buchi. On the way back, the father parked his motor vehicle a Toyota Spacio and had carnal knowledge with her without protection in the car.”

She said police patrol caught the Pastor Sinyenga in the act.

“Police officer on night patrol found them pants down in the car in the act. This is how he was apprehended, the girl sustained a painful vagina and a medical report was issued and taken to Kitwe Teaching Hospital, arrest has been made and the pastor detained at Riverside Police Station,” Katanga explained.
