Patriotic Front Secretary General Davies Mwila says PF will win the Roan and Bahati seats the same way it emerged victorious in Kafue, without any violence or importation of cadres.

And Mwila says UPND has been a liability to development in their so-called “vanishing” strongholds.

In PF’s news letter to News Diggers! Mwila stated that the party received news of its victory in the Kafue Council Chairperson by-election with great joy and thanks giving to God.

He commended the people of Kafue for rejecting the opposition’s politics of “tribalism and regionalism”.

“We have received with great joy and thanks giving to our Lord God, news of the Patriotic Front’s victory in the Kafue Council Chairperson by election that was held on March 27, 2019. We applaud the people of Kafue for rejecting the opposition’s politics of tribalism and regionalism that has retarded their progress for too long; and we correspondingly thank and pay glowing tribute to our Kafue brethren for turning a new leaf by embracing the all-inclusive development agenda of PF,” he stated.

And Mwila stated that PF would win Roan and Bahati seats the same way it was victorious in Kafue, without any violence or importation of cadres.

“We won without violence in Kafue and we will win without violence in Bahati and Roan! We did not import cadres in Kafue, and we will not import cadres in Bahati and Roan either! While the opposition preach nothing but hatred, circulate fake news and are consumed with stirring up trouble in order to get power by all means; we will continue to preach love and unity. We are now marching on to Roan and Bahati with greater determination to retain the two seats convincingly,” he stated.

Mwila added that PF’s wind of change was blowing across former opposition strongholds and constituencies with dishonest members of parliament.

“The PF development agenda is a wind of change blowing across former opposition strongholds and constituencies with rogue MPs. This wind of change is a growing movement bringing freedom from the bondage of regionalism whilst increasing PF grassroots popularity. People in UPND strongholds are joining this movement, embracing development and progressively freeing themselves from the retrogressive clutches of misplaced tribal and regional loyalties,” he stated.

Mwila charged that UPND had been a liability to development in their so-called strongholds.

“The opposition have clearly been a liability to development in their so called vanishing strongholds. But the people of Kafue like the people of Mangango, the people of Chilanga and many other former UPND strongholds have responded; they are tired of the UPND retarding their progress. They have become development conscious. The election of the PF candidate retired Brigadier General Moono Simakoloyi will now facilitate the long overdue development in Kafue,” he stated.

Mwila further charged that PF’s wind of change had also uprooted dishonest elements in Bahati and Roan Constituencies, who were not rooted in the founding principles of the party.

“The Wind of Change of PF Development Agenda under the leadership of President Edgar Chagwa Lungu has gained the momentum of a gale force wind, uprooting rogue elements in Bahati and Roan Constituencies, who were not grounded and rooted in the founding principles and values of Patriotic Front. It is also a discerning wind that separates the wheat from the chaff; unmasking and exposing the selfish ambitions of erstwhile parliamentarians that neglected their constituencies as they placed their clandestine presidential aspirations above the development needs of Roan and Bahati Constituencies,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Mwila stated that PF had a Manifesto which held them accountable to the ordinary Zambians whereas UPND even after 20 years of its existence had none.

“The PF wind of change is blowing through Zambia cannot be stopped by tribally inclined individuals and their regional parties or rogue parliamentarians. PF wins because the people win; the people win because PF wins.We are the people’s grassroots movement with a clear manifesto; (UPND even after 20 years of its existence doesn’t have one). We have a social contract with the people in the form of the PF Manifesto which holds us accountable to the ordinary Zambian; while the opposition have no manifesto and they are only accountable to their selfish imaginations and elitist ambitions of one person,” he stated.

Mwila added that PF prided itself in observing the directive by its party President and Head of State, Edgar Lungu, to conduct issue-based and violence free elections.

“I therefore wish to salute President Edgar Chagwa Lungu for upholding the values on which Patriotic Front was founded, among them respect for human life. PF has consequently led by example and proved to the opposition that it is possible to win an election without resorting to evil schemes of violence and the shedding of innocent blood,” stated Mwila.
