KWACHA independent aspiring candidate Lawrence Kasonde says the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) interrogated him over his campaign finances and also asked if anyone had paid him to withdraw from the race. Last week, ACC summoned Kasonde for questioning after UPND provincial youth chairman Warren Hinyama reported him for alleged corruption. In an interview, Kasonde said although it was within the commission’s powers to inquire about how people acquired money, his interrogation was unfair since given that it was his political opponent who reported him. “It was over the source of my campaign finances and funding and also they were asking if anyone has paid me to withdraw from the race.
