A NEWS Diggers investigation has revealed that suspended DPP Lilian Shawa Siyunyi granted Amos Chanda and Walid El Nahas absolute immunity from any prosecution in the RTSA speed camera corruption case before entering a nolle prosequi in 2020. The investigation further revealed that Nahas who is former Intelligent Mobility Solutions board chairman admitted giving Chanda, the former State House spokesperson, US$110,000 and the same amount to former RTSA chief executive officer Zindaba Soko, who was jointly charged for corrupt practices. According to an Indemnity Agreement granted to the duo in March 2020, it was settled that Chanda would forfeit to the State USD110,000, whereas Nahas would surrender USD400,000, in order to enjoy immunity from prosecution.
