GOVERNMENT has refuted social media claims that the land where Kamwala Remand Prison is sitting has been sold to an investor who plans to erect a shopping mall there. Minister of Home Affairs Jack Mwiimbu recently told Parliament that government had closed the said prison because of its inhabitable condition, adding that all inmates would be transferred to Mwembeshi correctional facility. But some citizens took to social media to speculate that the move was to pave way for the construction of a shopping mall.
