MINISTRY of Local Government and Rural Development Permanent Secretary for Technical Services Nicholas Phiri says purchasing a constituency vehicle using CDF can’t hinder other programmes. Reacting to Matero PF member of parliament Miles Sampa who recently said he would not accept the constituency vehicle which was bought using CDF because the people in his constituency did not request for it, Phiri said a vehicle costing K1 million does not take away anything from the priorities of the constituency. “The CDF act does provide for the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development to give policy direction and policy priorities on how the CDF should be administered.
