PF Chairperson for Information and Publicity Emmanuel Mwamba has reported the Minister of Energy Peter Kapala to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for abuse of power. Kapala has, without following tender procedure, been awarding contracts of fuel supply to a company called Agro Fuel Investments, and he also recently awarded a contract to Devon Oil, which he later cancelled before giving the deal to Transworld Petroleum Limited. Mwamba, in his report to ACC, however, did not make reference to Agro Fuel or Devon Oil, and only cited the minister’s wrongdoing in the case of Transworld, arguing that the company is not among those that have expressed interest to supply fuel under the recently advertised tender for 2024.
