THE United States government has donated 14,850 vials of injectable PrEP called Cabotegravir Long Acting (CAB-LA) to Zambia. Health Minister Sylvia Masebo explains that the injectable PrEP provides clients with two months of HIV protection between doses. Speaking during the launch of CAB-LA in Chibombo District yesterday, Masebo said the injectable PrEP involves the first two injections administered a month apart, followed by subsequent injections every two months.
