FORMER president Edgar Lungu has warned the police to “hold their horses and behave in a civil manner”, saying they might precipitate a situation that will force President Hakainde Hichilema to give up power before 2026 because people will rise. And Lungu says he is not afraid of being tear gassed or shot by the police. But police say Lungu’s statement that “people will rise” is being studied. Yesterday, Police fired teargas canisters to disperse some PF sympathisers who had gathered at Kabwata Police Station, demanding that the Lungu-led PF faction’s secretary general Raphael Nakacinda be released.
