POLICE in Southern Province have apprehended and detained a 24-year-old Mazabuka fuel attendant for stealing K188,926 from Oryx Filling Station. In a statement issued yesterday, Southern Province Police Commanding Officer Auxensio Daka identified the suspect as Mathews Silou, a supervisor at the filling station. Daka explained that the suspect reportedly gave the money to an unknown person in a foreign exchange business transaction, in hopes of sharing the profit, when he had gone to deposit the money at a bank. “On September 16, 2025, at 13:05 hours, Mazabuka Police Station received a report of Theft by Servant from Mr Hamweemba Namoya, aged 32, of Highlanders Compound, Mazabuka District, and Manager at Oryx Filling Station, Mazabuka Branch.
