THE Auditor General’s Report on the Audit of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for the financial year ended December 31, 2024 has revealed that K771,387,282 out of the K5,115,558,793 available resources was unspent in the period under review. The Report also indicated that K1,505,360 of empowerment grants was misappropriated after 63 beneficiaries spent the funds on personal activities. The Report stated that out of the K4,779,160,152 allocated for 156 constituencies amounts totalling K2,634,836,664 were funded leaving a balance of K2,144,323,488. The Audit report also indicated that amounts totaling K3,564,803,304 were brought forward from 2023 while interest and loan recoveries totaling K92,727,433 and other receipts totalling K6,631,196 were received bringing the total funds available to K5,886,946,075. “In the Estimates of Revenue...
