THE 2024 Auditor General’s Report on Local Authorities has revealed that Namwala Town Council failed to complete the installation of solar street lights despite engaging in a contract with Saro Agro worth over K3 million. The contract, which was at a sum of K3,788,824 meant Saro Agro was to supply, deliver and install 104 Solar Street lights. The report revealed that the council only paid amounts totalling K931,273, leaving a balance of K2,857,551.
