GOVERNMENT has announced that it is implementing measures to address visa overstay risks following the United States government’s travel restrictions affecting Zambian B1/B2 visitor visa holders. The United States government recently announced that effective January 1, 2026, entry into the US for Zambian citizens on B1/B2 visitor visas will be suspended. The restrictions were imposed following an Overstay Report, which revealed that Zambia had a B1/B2 visa overstay rate of 10.73 percent and an F, M and J visa overstay rate of 21.02 percent.
