LAVUSHIMANDA Town Council has completed the construction of a 1 by 2 classroom block at Mwila Chilembwe Primary School in Lavushimanda District at a cost of over K1.3 million, using the 2024 Constituency Development Fund (CDF). ZANIS reports that Council Director of Engineering, Humphrey Makabe, said the project scope includes a solar-powered 1 by 2 classroom block, 50 desks, head teacher’s office furniture and the upgrading of a solar-powered water reticulation system, which will include a submersible pump to replace the current hand pump. Makabe further explained that the project will soon be commissioned once the defects in the water reticulation system are rectified.
