MOVEMENT for National Renewal (MNR) leader John Sangwa has withdrawn from the 2026 general election race, citing inability to raise sufficient funds and government’s delay to register the movement. Sangwa says he has since declined invitations to stand as a presidential candidate or to serve as a running mate from registered political parties.
