PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has pardoned 1,505 inmates who were serving various sentences. According to a statement issued by Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security Permanent Secretary Dickson Matembo, Monday, President Hichilema also substituted sentences for 797 inmates. “In the spirit of forgiveness, compassion and reconciliation, His Excellency Mr Hakainde Hichilema, President of the Republic of Zambia and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Force, has exercised his prerogative of mercy on 1,505 inmates.
