FORMER Defence minister Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba says he has quit politics, stating that he gained nothing from it and is now focusing on his health and business. Last year, government released Mwamba and 12 others from prison on medical grounds. On October 9, 2024, Magistrate Stanford Ngobola sentenced Mwamba to five years’ imprisonment after he was convicted of conflict of interest and possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime.
