POLICE in Mufulira yesterday stopped Dr Brian Mushimba from proceeding with a campaign roadshow in the mining town on grounds that he was scheduled to campaign in Luapula. The Organized People’s Party (OPP) presidential candidate was scheduled to pass through several townships as part of his party’s campaign activities. However, police moved in quickly and stopped his entourage, asking party supporters to maintain order and leave the area. The presidential candidate and his party supporters had a brief back and forth with the law enforcers, who asked him to leave the town as he was not scheduled to campaign there.
