POLICE have confirmed that suspected UPND cadres attacked Resolute Party (RP) Lusaka Central candidate Charity Lumpa during a roadshow, injuring 11 people in the process. Police Spokesperson Godfrey Chilabi says Lumpa and others were attacked on Saturday in Lusaka near Town Centre. On Saturday, Lumpa posted videos of her damaged car, stating that she had been attacked by “unruly” UPND cadres. “So this is what happened: we were doing our roadshow in Independence Ward, Town Centre, and we were attacked by some alleged UPND cadres. They were wearing UPND regalia and they smashed the window with a stone. This is unacceptable behaviour,” said Lumpa in a video.
