RESIDENTS of Lusaka have praised government for the ongoing rehabilitation and upgrading of urban roads, saying the projects are improving access to essential services and transforming communities.
The residents expressed their appreciation during an engagement with engineers from the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD), the Lusaka City Council (LCC), Allione Consulting Engineers Limited and Scirocco Enterprises Limited.
The engagement took place as the team conducted inspections of ongoing and completed road projects across the city.
“Residents of Lusaka City have praised the government for the rehabilitation and upgrading of urban roads, describing the initiative as a transformative development that is improving access to essential services. The residents expressed their appreciation during an engagement with engineers from the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD), the Lusaka City Council (LCC), Allione Consulting Engineers Limited and Scirocco Enterprises Limited. The team was conducting inspections of ongoing and completed road projects across the city,” stated the council.
“Speaking during the engagement, the residents commended the government for prioritizing infrastructure development. They further appealed for the continued rollout of similar projects in other parts of Lusaka so that more communities can benefit from the ongoing investment in road infrastructure. The inspection is part of routine monitoring by the Ministry, the Lusaka City Council, the consultant and the contractor to assess progress and ensure that all road works are executed in accordance with required engineering specifications and quality standards”.
