THE Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) says it will conduct a site verification inspection of the area affected by the Sino Metals pollution incident. ZEMA says this is after the submission of the mining company’s progress report on the remediation exercise. In February this year, ZEMA issued an amended Environmental Restoration Order directing Sino Metals to undertake clean-up, remediation and restoration works, with the exercise expected to be completed by June 30, 2026.
