POLITICAL Analyst Dr Neo Simutanyi has cautioned that Zambia should not fall into Zimbabwe’s trap of extending presidential terms from five years to seven years. On 7 July, 2026, Zimbabwe President Emmerson Mnangagwa signed into law a constitutional amendment extending his term of office by two years, allowing him to remain President until 2030.
