FELIX Mutati says the PF borrowed money under the Eurobond which was never used for its intended purpose.

Meanwhile, Vice-President Mutale Nalumango says the PF is gone and will never return to power even if they change their name to NRPUP.

Vice-President Nalumango further advised electorates to be well informed before casting their vote.

Speaking when he addressed a rally in Nchelenge District, Mutati, who was finance minister under PF, alleged that the former ruling government misused the Eurobond and shared the funds among themselves.

“What she is saying is true. They borrowed money to say we want to invest in Zambia Railways Limited but the money never reached the company, they shared it among themselves,” said Mutati.

Meanwhile Vice-Presdent Nalumango stressed that PF had not changed.

“Yes, they borrowed money in the name of Eurobond meant for Zambia Railways Limited, but the money was never used for its intended purpose. They shared it among themselves. Mutati worked with them and they fired him because they liked borrowing and he was not for the idea. This is what this man who has left PF and joined us has seen. To say if he wants to help the country move forward he needs to move with the current government, because PF is not coming back. UNIP is gone, MMD is equally gone, and PF will also never come back. PF is gone and even if they change the name it’s the same old thing. That’s why children are singing saying a ‘crocodile is a crocodile’. These our friends are the same ones you refused to govern this country, the ones who are finished and dead whose time is long gone. Now they are back in the name of Tonse or NRPUP. Even if they change their name, a crocodile is a crocodile. Even if it is taken to a different place it will not change,” she said.

“The way the PF was in the olden days is the way they are. I heard Kambwili saying they will never stop cadreism, what they mean is violence. The violence from the markets, and from bus stations, is that what you want to go back to? In 2021 were we allowed to have meetings here as UPND? We were scared of being beaten. We had no chance to speak to the people but today they are able to hold meetings. But they are saying we have taken away freedoms. Hasn’t Hichilema brought freedom? Some people are even saying the campaigns are quiet because people got used to violence during campaigns. Is that what you want?”.

And Vice- President Nalumango said NRPUP’s plan was to come and “eat” the reserves.

“Hakainde Hichilema loves the poor. That is why he brought free education. He topped it with the school feeding programme. From the time I was born I had free education but I have never seen any President that has fed the entire country. I want you to listen to me even if you support the opposition. I want you to listen attentively so that even as you will be going to cast your vote you should be well informed. So that you know the truth even as you will be voting,” said Vice-President Nalumango.

“Our friends found money in the economy and they came and ate all the money in the reserves and they over borrowed and failed to pay back. Now they want to come back saying they want to fix the country? Even our creditors started refusing to borrow us money. I want you people who are here to pay attention so that even as you will be going to vote you will have known the truth. They borrowed. Even themselves they announced in 2019 that all the projects which were below 80 percent will not be completed because there was no money. So how will they bring development? Their plans are to come and eat the money in the reserves”.
