PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has accorded an Official Funeral to late former cabinet minister in the Movement for Multi-Party Democracy (MMD) government, Austin Liato. The Head of State has also declared a one day of National Mourning in honour of Liato, which will be observed on August 11, 2026, from 06:00 hours to 18:00 hours. Liato, 60 years, died after an illness at Maina Soko Medical Centre on August 6, 2026.
