FOUR people have died and 36 others sustained injuries, after a bus and a truck collided along the Great East Road in Rufunsa District. Preliminary investigations indicate that the accident happened when the driver of the Volvo truck moved into the opposite lane, while trying to avoid hitting a stationary motor vehicle. The truck then collided head-on with the on-coming bus. According to a statement, Thursday, Zambia Police Service Public Relations Officer Godfrey Chilabi said the accident occurred yesterday around 11:00 hours in the Lukwipa area.
