THE request by Director of Public Prosecutions madam Lilian Shawa Siyunyi SC to President Hakainde Hichilema for him to waive the official oath of office or rather the oath of secrecy in order for her to defend herself at the Judicial Complaints Commission (JCC) is very strange. The response from the Attorney General denying her that request is also strange but of course, it is expected. In our view, DPP Siyunyi is making this request not necessarily so that she can successfully defend herself but so that she can put the Presidency in an awkward and compromising position.
