THE Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) 2021 general election review report says some stakeholders, including political parties, have recommended that the G12 certificate requirement for candidates contesting elections must be removed. According to these stakeholders, the law is segregative against people who are naturally good leaders, but did not attain a grade 12 certificate. To this, veteran politician Chifumu Banda says no. State Counsel Banda counter proposes that this law must be maintained, as it should not even be an issue amongst those vying for political office.
