Former Commerce Deputy Minister Raymond Mpundu and media activist Ngande Mwanajiti have been elected as new Chairperson and vice Chairperson for the Energy Regulation Board respectively.
In a statement issued by ERB Director for consumer and public Affairs Agnes Phiri yesterday, the development comes following the elections which were conducted at the induction Board meeting held at the Energy House.
Speaking when he appointed a new board during the induction meeting, Energy Minister David Mabumba urged Mpundu’s team to foster private sector participation in the energy sector.
“I therefore challenge the new board to create an enabling regulatory environment that will enhance private sector participation in the energy sector. The Energy Regulation Board is a very strategic institution in this country and your job is to provide clear policy direction and guidance to the betterment of the people of Zambia,” said Mabumba.
Others appointed are Tembi Vibetti, Fred Zama, Deam Mumba, Isreal Phiri, and Booker Kapapula.
