ECONOMIST Noel Nkhoma says the support the country is receiving from the World Bank and other multilateral financing institutions confirms the credibility of the new dawn administration. But Nkhoma says the country should not always depend on donor support to improve the economy. Last week, the Ministry of Finance and National Planning disclosed that the World Bank Executive Board had approved US$125 million grant for Zambia. The ministry explained that the grant was part of the World Bank’s multi-sectoral support to help Zambia restore macroeconomic stability, make progress towards debt sustainability and promote private-sector-led inclusive growth.
