MWINILUNGA UPND member of parliament Newton Samakayi has charged that the recent teacher recruitment process in North Western Province was marred with corruption because most local residents were not selected. He has since appealed to the Anti-Corruption Commission to move in and investigate the matter. Addressing the media, Friday, Samakayi said only six Mwinilunga residents were recruited out of the 31 slots allocated to the constituency while the rest came from other provinces. “This is a concern of the people of Mwinilunga and we have also found out that this concern is not just in Mwinilunga, it is in all the 11 districts in the province. The government did very well to allocate the 4,500 [slots] divided among our districts....
