ZAMBIA Association of Manufacturers (ZAM) president Ashu Sagar says the manufacturing sector has faced difficulties in absorbing the impact brought about by the depreciating Kwacha and fuel prices in the last four months. In an interview, Sagar expressed concern over the impact of the exchange rate on the manufacturing sector, saying it was affecting imports. “On the issue of the exchange rate, yes, it’s very worrying. We are concerned as manufacturers because it directly impacts all our packaging. Most of the packaging inputs are all imported.
