THE Ministry of Transport and Logistics has told the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) that out of 1,002 motor vehicles purchased by various ministries using their TPINs, only 879 have been identified in databases, while 123 remain missing. In response, PAC has mandated a physical verification of these vehicles to determine their whereabouts. According to the Auditor General’s report for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2022, analysis of the Zambia Revenue Authority database revealed that 1,002 motor vehicles, valued at K464,930,734, were procured using various ministries’ TPINs during the review period.
