THE Zambia Medicines and Medical Supplies Agency (ZAMMSA) Board has suspended the entity’s Director General Victor Nyasulu from office with immediate effect, after charging him with negligence. On Wednesday, Health Minister Sylvia Masebo revealed that 61 out of 74 containers of medication which were supposed to be stored at ZAMMSA warehouse were diverted to a private warehouse without the knowledge of the Ministry and the ZAMMSA board. According to sources, negotiations for a mutual separation agreement failed on Wednesday when Nyasulu rejected the offer, leading to his suspension. “There was a meeting yesterday where the board tried to convince the DG to accept a mutual separation agreement but he rejected it.
