CHAPTER One Foundation says there is a lack of transparency in government’s decisions regarding the alleged purchase of Zambeef’s Chiawa Farm. The organisation also notes that there is no information shared to show that the purchase is competitive and cost-effective. Recently, government announced it had purchased the farm at $13.5 million, but later u-turned, saying it had not yet bought it. Secretary to the Treasury Felix Nkulukusa said IDC was considering purchasing the farm, and was currently undertaking due diligence on the property.
