THE state has opposed Christian Democratic Party president Apostle Dan Pule’s application for an order to stay criminal proceedings in the Subordinate Court. This is in a matter where Pule petitioned the state in the High Court over its decision to arrest and charge him with seditious practices, arguing that the law is outdated. Pule is seeking a declaration from the High Court that Section 57(1)(b) read with Section 60(1)(f) of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia, is unconstitutional.
