THE Civil Society for Poverty Reduction (CSPR) says Zesco’s decision to reduce power supply to three hours for residential areas will disrupt livelihoods, especially for those whose income depends on electricity. On Monday, Zesco announced a reduction of power supply to residential areas from four hours to three hours. Commenting on the reduction in an interview on Tuesday, CSPR Executive Director Isabel Mukelabai said the move by Zesco creates many challenges for ordinary Zambians in terms of planning. “I think the reduction in power supply to residential areas does have negative impacts on the general well-being of households.
