A LUSAKA woman has dragged Mika Meats to the High Court, demanding US$ 25,000 in damages for negligence after she allegedly consumed the company’s beef sausage which had a green house fly. Thelma Chimuka Simachembele also wants an order for special damages amounting to K10,000. Simachembele further wants an order for aggravated and exemplary damages to be assessed by the court and interests in the sums found due to her. In a statement of claim filed by her lawyers of Messrs. BDS Legal Practitioners on February 21, 2025, Simachembele submitted that she purchased beef sausage from the company’s establishment in Chelstone-Obama.
