PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has revealed that his government convinced 42 non-UPND MPs to secure the two-thirds majority needed to pass Constitution Amendment Bill No. 7. President Hichilema adds that he personally invited Bwacha PF MP Sydney Mushanga to his house at night and asked him to bring along other colleagues to support Bill 7. Meanwhile, the President says Mushanga will be standing on the UPND ticket in the August election and has urged party members to begin campaigning, stressing that they need every vote to secure an early victory by 10:00 hours.
