PATRICK Chulu Legal Practitioners have confirmed that they have been instructed to take up Celestine Mukandila’s case, involving the cancellation of his NRC and passport. The law firm says the case will be taken under the LAZ Pro Bono Scheme. On Friday, government cancelled the National Registration Card and Zambian Passport belonging to Mukandila, following a “determination” that the documents were obtained through fraud and false declaration. On August 20, 2026 the Department of Immigration arrested Mukandila following a report relating to his immigration status, adding to the list of 18 Tonse Alliance members who have been arrested by the police and charged with treason.
