THE Millers Association of Zambia (MAZ) has backed government’s maize export deal to Kenya, as the current local maize stock position will not be affected. MAZ, however, says there is need to trade cautiously due to the projected El Niño. On Thursday, the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) signed a contract with Kenya’s Baita Trading Company Limited for the export of 540,000 metric tonnes of maize.
