THE Constitutional Court has dismissed applications by Paramount Chiefs Chitimukulu, Litunga and Kalonga Gawa Undi to join a petition seeking recognition of Chief Mukuni as a Paramount Chief. The three traditional leaders had applied to participate as interested parties in a petition filed on June 25, 2026, by the Mukuni Royal Dynasty Committee through its Director General, Jonas Shakafuswa, against the Attorney General. The committee is seeking a declaration that the continued classification of Chief Munokalya Mupotola IV Siloka III Mukuni XIX as an ordinary chief is unconstitutional and inconsistent with Articles 1, 165, 166, 167 and 266 of the Constitution.
