CHIPATA Diocese Bishop George Lungu has proposed a private meeting with President Hakainde Hichilema to discuss concerns over the treatment of opposition figures and other political tensions following the August 13 election. Bishop Lungu says the proposed engagement would not be confrontational or intended to embarrass government, but would provide an opportunity for religious and civic leaders to raise concerns about justice, political tolerance, the rule of law and access to institutions of justice.
