A 40-year-old teacher of Lusaka has been dragged to court for allegedly stealing over K26,000 from 12 people.

In this matter, Humphrey Mwamba is charged with 12 counts of theft.

Particulars of the offence in the first count allege that on unknown dates but between September 3, 2018 and November 20, 2018 in Lusaka, Mwamba stole K3,474 cash from Nara Nkoma.

In the second count, it is alleged that on the same dates Mwamba stole K1,389.99 cash from Margaret Banda.

In count three, it is alleged that on the same dates Mwamba stole K694.50 cash from Matilda Mahachi.

In count four, it is alleged that on unknown dates but between October 1, and 31, 2018 in Lusaka, Mwamba stole K1, 240 cash from Isaac Mapili.

In count five, alleged that on unknown date but between October 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018 in Lusaka, Mwamba stole K694.50 cash from Doreen Chipika.

In count six, it is alleged that on unknown dates but between December 3, and 31, 2018 in Lusaka, Mwamba stole K1, 300 cash from Prudence Lombe.

In count seven, it is alleged that on unknown dates but between October 29, 2018 and January 31, 2019 in Lusaka, Mwamba stole K1, 050 cash from Elasto Banda.

In count eight, it is alleged that on unknown dates but between September 3, 2018 and December 31, 2018 in Lusaka, Mwamba stole K1, 158.34 cash from Kayombo Mulemba.

In count nine, it is alleged that on unknown date but between September 3, 2018 and November 30, 2018 in Lusaka, Mwamba stole K3,475 cash from Landislaous Phiri.

In count 10, it is alleged that on unknown dates but between October 1, 2018 and April 30, 2019 in Lusaka, Mwamba stole K7, 510.25 cash from Toniada Mbewe.

In count 11, it is alleged that on unknown dates but between September 3, 2018 and December 31, 2018 in Lusaka, Mwamba stole K4,170 cash from Sylvia Chituta.

And in the last count, it is alleged that on unknown dates but between September 3, 2018 and December 31, 2018 in Lusaka, Mwamba stole K926.67 cash from Cosmos Bili.

When the matter came up for allocation, Mwamba was not before court.

Principal Resident Magistrate Mwaka Mikalile, however, allocated the matter to Magistrate Ammie Masoja for plea where the suspect is expected to appear soon.
