GOVERNMENT says it has contained the Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia (CBPP) which was recorded in Chisamba and Chibombo districts, affecting cattle. Government, however, says the ban on the movement of live cattle from the affected districts remains in force until the last of the diseased animals are slaughtered. In an interview, Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock acting director for veterinary services Dr Geoffrey Muuka said 75 to 80 percent of the animals that were diseased had been slaughtered so far. “We have managed to contain the disease within the affected farms and we have ensured that it has not spread to any other farms.
