ZESCO Limited Board Chairperson Vickson NcubeĀ has stressed that the Kariba dam needs at least three good rainy seasons for it to be filled. Ncube says the utility company is, however, working towards growing its reserves for the future to prevent load shedding from recurring. On Friday, Energy Minister Peter Kapala announced a reduction of load shedding hours and attributed the development to increased water levels at Kariba and other hydropower reservoirs.
