PART of the Lusaka Central Business District was yesterday brought to a stand still when Zambia Police officers moved in to remove street vendors. By 08:00 hours, various street vendors had gathered in different parts of the CBD, expressing shock regarding what had happened to their stands, which had been dismantled and discarded. Lusaka’s Kulima Tower area was filled with armed police officers who were ready to pounce on any vendor who tried to be a nuisance.
