AGRICULTURE Minister Mtolo Phiri has described government’s move to allow the importation of maize as a forward-planning measure aimed at ensuring that no citizen dies of hunger due to the drought situation. In a recently issued notice, Mtolo disclosed that government had granted authority for the importation of white and yellow non-genetically modified maize grain for both human and industrial consumption for the period April 2024 to April 2025.
