THE Supreme Court has upheld the conviction of former Finance Minister Dr Katele Kalumba and three others who were convicted and sentenced to five years’ imprisonment for corrupt practices on May 26, 2010. And Kalumba has lamented that he has been subjected to injustice. Dr Kalumba was jointly sentenced with former Finance Permanent Secretary Stella Chibanda and former directors of the defunct Access Financial Services Faustine Kabwe and Aaron Chungu. This is a matter in which Dr Kalumba, Chibanda, Kabwe and Chungu were charged with corruption in relation to the payments of about 20 million dollars to a USA security company Systems Innovation and Wilbain Incorporation between 1997 and 2000.
